The Southampton Town Youth Bureau will host its annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 14, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Southampton Youth Services, 1370A Majors Path in Southampton. Sign-in and warm up drills will start at 6 p.m.. The tournament is open to students in grades five to 12, and prizes will be awarded to the winning teams in middle and high school brackets. The Kiwanis Club of Southampton Town will host a St. Patrick’s Day bingo fundraiser on Friday, March 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hampton Bays American Legion Hall, 55 Ponquogue Avenue. Proceeds from the event will help pay for ingredients used in the soups Kiwanis members make for the food pantry. Admission is $30 per person includes two boards and snacks with a cash bar. The Suffolk County district attorney’s office this week announced that it has filed felony assault charges against the Farmingville man who police have said robbed a Flanders Road deli last September and “pistol whipped” a female clerk with the butt of a handgun multiple times. HAMPTON BAYS — An East Quogue man reported to Southampton Town Police that someone stole his e-bike from outside a Montauk Highway business on February 10. The man said the bike was parked at the business at 6:30 a.m. and when he returned shortly after noon it was gone. Jonathan Swezey Raynor, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, and mentor, passed away on February 6, 2025, at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue. He was 74. Jonathan was born on March 30, 1950, the son of Robert Clinton Raynor and Dorothy Raynor (née Swezey). He was raised in Remsenburg and graduated from Westhampton Beach High School before attending SUNY Oswego, where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth “Betsy” Gaylord.
