BMX professionals Russell Barone and Travis Foreman were at The Church in Sag Harbor on Friday to talk about and give a demonstration of their craft. The duo gave tips and tricks, as well as a primer on the fundamentals and importance of riding a bike. The program kicked off with a BMX demonstration from professional BMXer Barone, along with a few of his fellow riders. They performed jumps and tricks, demonstrating the difficulty of the sport. Following the demo, Foreman, better known as “The Bike Whisperer,” discussed his philosophy on the importance of learning how to ride a bike. Barone discussed his life as a professional BMX biker and how he’s traveled (and biked) all over the world. Barone and Foreman have collectively taught thousands of kids how to ride a bike, helping kids gain the confidence and freedom that comes with taking a first solo-ride. A Q&A and open discussion concluded the program.
