On Friday, February 7, our family nearly lost our entire home due to a house fire. While the damage to our home and loss of much of our belongings is overwhelming, our situation could have been much worse.
We would like to thank the brave volunteers of the Southampton and North Sea fire departments and mutual aid who risked their lives in an extremely dangerous situation. We are safe, and our historic home will be able to be salvaged, and many of our sentimental items, hopefully, restored.
We cannot express our gratitude enough to all emergency service personnel, many of whom we know personally. What you do is truly amazing.
The outpouring of concern and compassion and help from family and friends in our community at a difficult time has been a true blessing to us. We have never felt so fortunate and grateful to live in Southampton.

I am writing to alert my Southampton Town neighbors and fellow voters to the upcoming special election for Town Council this March 18. I suspect that if you are reading the letters section in the newspaper, you are already aware...

I’d like to thank Jose Reyes [“A Bad Apple,” Letters, February 13] and Steve Crispinelli [“Too Many Questions,” Letters, February 13] for their recent Letters to the Editor. Both challenged the Southampton Democratic Committee to do a better job for...
John Leonard [“No Bullying,” Letters, February 13] and husband Gene Valle’s [“Not Bullied,” Letters, February 13] letters rebutting mine and Ginnie Frati’s are a combination of misleading statements and lies. But to remove the “he said/she said” from the arguments,...
I request that The Press reconsider its high school wrestling section. While I understand the desire to cover local sports, the focus on wrestling may inadvertently contribute to a climate that encourages violence. Wrestling, by its nature, involves physical aggression...
