Brewster H. Griffing Sr. of Boynton Beach, Florida, and formally of Hampton Bays and Riverhead, died on June 23 while in hospice care at the V.A. center in Riviera Beach, Florida, with his wife, Diana M. Griffing, by his side. He was 84.
He had a love of the water and all things boating, and held a 60-year career in marine electronics. His wealth of knowledge will be sorely missed, his family said.
He survived by his wife, Diana M. Griffing of Boynton Beach, Florida; his son, Brewster H. Griffing Jr. (Christine) of Hampton Bays; his daughter, Meredith Butters of Flanders; and two grandchildren, Taylor Butters of Hampton Bays, and U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Aaron Butters of Wichita, Kansas. He was predeceased by his parents, Burton Griffing, Barbara B. Carris and Kathryn Griffing; and his grandson, Brandon Griffing of West Palm Beach, Florida, and formally of Hampton Bays.
His ashes will interred at the South Florida National Cemetery in Wellington, Florida, with a military service on Wednesday, July 10.
