Doris Edwards

Doris Edwards of Westhampton Beach, formerly of Jamesport, died on Wednesday, February 18 at the Westhampton Care Center. She was 86.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Brooklyn
on November 20, 1922, to Sylvia and Mark Matus. She graduated from James Madison High School and worked in the assessor’s office of the Town of Riverhead.

She is survived by her husband, George of Westhampton Beach; three daughters, Ellen Schnabel and her husband Ken, Laurie Meade and her husband Tom, and Nancy Wendroff; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service, under the direction of Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach, was held at the Temple Israel of Riverhead on February 20. Interment followed at Mount Ararat Cemetery in Farmingdale.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH — Dario Vasquez, 26, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Westhampton Beach Village Police on December 9 and charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, a misdemeanor.
