Dr. Martin Gluck Of Water Mill Dies November 24

Martin V. Gluck, MD, died on November 24 at his home in Water Mill from complications of pancreatic cancer. He was 85 and had first been diagnosed with the disease in October 2010.

Born in Brooklyn, he was the middle son of Joseph and Frances Gluck. He was graduated from New York University in 1948 and went to medical school at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. After completing his medical training at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, he began practicing medicine with the United States Air Force at the Brookley Air Force base in Mobile, Alabama. After three years of military service, he returned to Canarsie, Brooklyn, and started medical practice. He was among the first group of doctors to become board certified by the American Academy of Family Medicine in 1972. Dr. Gluck was president of the medical staff at The Community Hospital of Brooklyn from 1988 through 1991. He was a clinical instructor at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He retired from solo private practice in 1994 and continued practicing medicine throughout Long Island.

He enjoyed golf, The New York Times crossword puzzle, fine art and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Blossom; two sons, Brian and Brad; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Melissa, Jackie and Elizabeth.

Funeral services, with military honors, were held at Star of David Memorial Chapel in West Babylon on November 27.

Family Fun Day Set At Hampton Bays Church
