The East Hampton/Pierson/Bridgehampton boys and girls competed at the Westhampton Beach Invitational, which brought many of Suffolk County’s top athletes to the East End on Saturday. Many of the Bonackers held their own against some tough competition.
Leslie Samuel placed fourth in the open 200-meter dash, in a personal record of 2:38.93. Meredith Spolarich finished fifth in the open high jump with a height of 4 feet 10 inches, tying a season’s best.
Casey Stumpf placed second in the novice triple jump with a leap of 26 feet 11 inches, while Khalila Martin made her season debut in the event, finishing fourth with a leap of 24 feet 3½ inches.
Dylan Cashin placed second in the novice 800-meter run, in a personal-best 2:38.93. Ryleigh O’Donnell placed third in the novice 400-meter hurdles, in a personal-best 75.09 seconds, with teammate Alexa Gomez finishing sixth, in a personal-best 78.77 seconds. Becca Trowbridge finished fourth in the novice discus with a 69-foot-4-inch throw.
East Hampton’s boys 4x800-meter relay team finished sixth, in 9:10.22. P.J. Ramundo finished 10th in the 3,200-meter race, in 10:18.50. Liam Fowkes finished 10th in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, in 1:06.93; he also finished fifth overall in the novice 100-meter hurdles, in 20.40 seconds.
Benson Edman finished third in the novice 1,600-meter race, in 5:24.71. David Armijos won the novice triple jump with a leap of 34 feet 6½ inches; he placed second in the novice long jump with a leap of 15 feet 4½ inches. Isaac Rodriguez finished third behind Armijos with a leap of 15 feet ½ inch.
