East Quogue School students surprised Superintendent and Principal Rob Long with a special performance for Principal’s Appreciation Day on Tuesday, May 3.
The entire student body, kindergarten through sixth grade, gathered outside in the afternoon, and when Long arrived outside the students sang a rendition of the song “Kind and Generous” by Natalie Merchant. They’d secretly been working on the song for weeks with music teacher Kim Clemensen.
The students all signed a large banner expressing their gratitude to Long, and the East Quogue PTA presented him with an East Quogue Wildcats jersey, which matches the one worn by the school’s new mascot, “Roary,” the Wildcat.
