Southampton Town Police charged a local man with driving while intoxicated following a three-car crash that reportedly caused two minor injuries near North Sea Tavern on the afternoon of Saturday, March 22. After an investigation at the scene of the North Sea Road crash, officers arrested Steven Begg, 33 of Southampton and charged him with a misdemeanor count of DWI. He was arrested at the scene and transported to headquarters, where he was held overnight for an arraignment on Sunday morning. WESTHAMPTON BEACH — On March 14, at 11:39 a.m., Quogue Village Police arrested Margaret Salomon, 65, of East Quogue at Parlato Drive and charged her with several misdemeanors and violations relating to two separate incidents. A day earlier, police said Salomon had speeded off when Quogue Police tried to pull her over in Quogue, and they could not locate her. Jorge Tinti Chamale, 25, of Westhampton was arrested by Westhampton Beach Police on March 14 at 9 p.m. at South Country Road and Peters Lane and charged with misdemeanor DWI. Police pulled Tinti Chamale over after watching him make a right-hand turn from north on Oak Street onto Montauk Highway headed east. During the maneuver, he failed to use a turn signal and failed to stay in his lane, police said.
