Edward “Ebby” M. Corrigan, a lifelong resident of Southampton, died at home on April 20, 2019, with his wife, Helen P. Corrigan, by his side and his house filled with family and friends. He was 89.
Mr. Corrigan was born January 17, 1930, in Southampton, to Maurice L. Corrigan and Leonie H. Corrigan, both of Southampton. He was raised in the family home on Moses Lane, and married the love of his life, Helen “Patty” Corrigan, in June 1963. They built a home on his family farm where they raised three children, Maurice, Edward, and Hope.
A 75-year active member of Southampton Fire Department, and lifelong member of the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Mr. Corrigan was always quick to volunteer his time for his community.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Maurice Corrigan (Doris Taylor), Hope Corrigan (Robert Cox) and Edward Corrigan (Alison); and three grandchildren, Luke, Wyatt, and Gardner Corrigan.
Visitation was at Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton on April 24. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, at 10 a.m. at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Interment will be at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton.
