Elizabeth Wood Of East Quogue Dies December 10

Elizabeth Wood of East Quogue died on December 10. She was 88.

She was born in Brooklyn in 1933, and raised in Glendale, where she met and married her husband of 48 years, Harold Wood. Together, they had four children: Patricia Garufi, Susan Berglin, Kathleen Warner and Robert Wood.

Eventually, the family moved to Hampton Bays, where she was employed at a doctor’s office, Shep Miller and 15 years at Shinnecock Golf club. She and her husband enjoyed many trips abroad. The family would expand to 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours were on Sunday, December 12, at the R. J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass was held on Monday at St. Rosalie’s Church, followed by a interment in Good Ground Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Hospice (eeh.org) would be appreciated by the family.
