Ellen Carney
Ellen “Helen” Carney died on September 5 in Hampton Bays. She was 82.
Ms. Carney was an active member of the Hampton Bays Beautification Association and the Irish American Society of the Hamptons.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Carney of White Plains, and Neal Carney and his wife Kathleen of California; a daughter, Diane Carney Devon of Colorado; a daughter-in-law, Anne Carney of the Bronx; four grandsons, Colin, Joseph, Kevin and Derek; and a granddaughter, Rachel.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Carney, and a son, Artie Carney.
The family received visitors on September 8 at R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Funeral services were scheduled on Thursday, September 9, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rosalie’s Roman Catholic Church in Hampton Bays. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 555 Broadhollow Road, Melville, NY 11747 would be appreciated by the family.
