Really? An 11 percent increase in property taxes, and you say we will see what next year brings [“Making Ends Meet,” Editorial, November 21]?
I knew the 2 percent cap was being pierced. Decided, well, I suppose after eight years of control, some change might be needed, thus no protest.
But — 11 percent? That’s not piercing the cap, it’s blowing it to pieces! Nice raises, by the way. Most people are lucky to get 3 percent, and that applies for those still working or retirees.
Do the math on that, because these are the people paying your salary. I expected better and more common sense from the council.
Move all the town offices to Hampton Bays. It will reduce travel time and expense and save us all money in the future.
