Flag Rescue

The Water Mill Village Improvement Association would like to thank the Southampton Fire Department, along with Chief Emmanuel Escobar, Kenneth Lockard and Peter Feeney, as well as David Raynor Landscaping and his associates. The crews showed up at the request of the Water Mill Village Improvement Association after the flag on the Water Mill Village Green became stuck at the top of the 100- foot flagpole.

The crew from Raynor Landscaping laid protective wood down on the green to protect it from the weight of the massive fire truck. Once the truck was in place, it took the firefighters no time at all to retrieve the jammed flag.

It is extremely valuable to our organization to have the support of our community, and we are extremely grateful.
