Sag Harbor Historical Museum Awarded Grant for Headstone Restoration

The Sag Harbor Historical Museum was awarded a $10,000 grant to restore headstones in Sag Harbor’s Old Burying Ground on Union Street. The grant was from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, which supports projects that highlight New York history. The group of headstones to be repaired were severely damaged in the Hurricane of 1938 and have remained broken in multiple pieces and partially buried in the ground since that time. A chance to have pictures taken with Santa will be available at a breakfast/brunch hosted by the Shinnecock Community Center on Saturday, December 21, from 8 a.m. to noon.
