On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump — still screaming about a stolen election (the “Big Lie” that was struck down in 60 courts) — spit all over our country’s Constitution by sending an angry mob to the Capitol to savagely beat police officers and threaten the life of his own vice president, in an unprecedented and shameful attempt to upend the peaceful transfer of power.
On January 20, 2025, Trump will place his left hand on a Bible, raise his right hand, and promise to “preserve and protect the Constitution.” Really? They’d better have a fire extinguisher on hand in case the book bursts into flames.
How did our country reach this insane point with a sneaker-hawking, adjudicated sexual abuser and convicted felon? The price of eggs?
