SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Village Police arrested a Sag Harbor Village resident, Sofia Fernandez Nava, 27, last Thursday afternoon on a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny. It appears from the arrest report that Fernandez Nava made two classic mistakes, if in fact, she is guilty as charged: She did not look up to look for surveillance cameras, and she returned to the scene of the crime. Bayron Fernando Guazhambo Nasqui, 32, of Springs, was arrested by Sag Harbor Village Police Saturday morning at around 6 a.m. on misdemeanor charges of DWI. The arresting officer was sent to investigate a report police received that there was a man sleeping in a pickup truck on Jermain Avenue near Main Street. First, it was the Cranberry Hole Road Bridge in Amagansett, which was closed to all traffic in May 2023, then again a few weeks later, after the road over the Long Island Rail Road tracks was deemed unsafe.
