Simply Not True

I write in reference to an article published by 27east.com dated December 6 [“Southampton Village Ethics Board Finds Trustee Robin Brown Violated Code With Attendance at Fundraisers”], regarding a decision by the Southampton Village Ethics Board erroneously finding that I violated the village’s code of ethics by attending two fundraisers. I recently attended a Metropolitan Opera event at which a friend of mine was an honoree for her 90th birthday, and a fundraiser hosted by the Peconic Baykeeper. Although nothing about attending either event violates the ethics code, I found myself subject to an investigation by the village’s Ethics Board ... by Staff Writer

Eroding Trust

The Southampton Press reported that Southampton Village Trustee Robin Brown violated the village’s ethics code by accepting a gift, allegedly two VIP tickets to a New York City event unrelated to her role as a trustee, valued at thousands of dollars [“Southampton Village Ethics Board Finds Trustee Robin Brown Violated Code With Attendance at Fundraisers,” 27east.com, December 6]. The Ethics Board did not find her in violation of seven other charges, including an allegation that she used her position as the Coopers Beach liaison to receive free beach chairs, umbrellas and cabanas, costing taxpayers thousands of dollars. Savor the 'Miracle'

It is no surprise to read and hear the legacy media throw shade on the Donald Trump express train that is nominating its department heads. With the troubled Matt Gaetz withdrawal, attention has turned to popular Fox personality Pete Hegseth as the choice for defense secretary. Allegations of sexual impropriety and alcohol abuse were leaked as red flags by the usual sources from the left. But, tellingly, there are no witnesses or accusers of any of the allegations made who are willing to go on the record and attach their names to their accusations, none as of the writing of ... by Staff Writer

Only Solution

The continued cowardice shown by the Southampton Town Board concerning Westwoods is long past unacceptable. Their inability or unwillingness to answer questions or take action can only lead one to believe that, barring Cyndi McNamara, they are complicit in this illegal operation. Yes, I said illegal. They are criminal. The question is: Why? Are they more concerned about the wealthier communities east of the canal? After all, if Westwoods gets shut down, the Shinnecock may turn to true tribal lands to launch their venture. Have the board members (barring Ms. McNamara) been bought and paid for? Perhaps by the nation, ... by Staff Writer
