Joseph H. Werner of Riverhead died on Monday, November 24. He was 85.

Mr. Werner was a World War II veteran and worked for the Metro North Railroad at Grand Central Station in New York City.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, Joseph; two daughters, Mary Mazziliano of East Moriches and Linda Deritis; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Jillian and Mikki Mazziliano, Mark, Jennifer, Sean and Colleen Werner, and Catherine Deritis; and three great-grandchildren, Alicia Trent, Ashlee Sears and Kayla Mazziliano.

A wake was held at Sinnickson’s Moriches Funeral Home in Center Moriches on November 25. A funeral service was held at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Center Moriches on November 26; interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
