Kory MacWhinnie of Southampton died on July 21 after a sudden illness. He was 32.
Mr. MacWhinnie was the son of Kerry Jon MacWhinnie of Water Mill.
He was a graduate of Ward Mellville High School, class of 2006. He worked as a real estate manager.
Growing up, Mr. MacWhinnie enjoyed horseback riding and competed in the Hampton Classic horse show for numerous years, his family said.
In addition to his father and his partner Stephanie Abrahms of Water Mill; he is survived by his grandparents, Morgan and Gerrodette MacWhinnie of Southampton; his close friend Barry Bistrian and their dog Faith; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
According to his family, Mr. MacWhinnie was loved by a multitude of friends on the East End and will be missed. His family wished to express appreciation for all the love, support and kind messages received.
Arrangements were private. A celebration of Mr. MacWhinnie’s life will be announced for a later date.
Memorial donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
