Funeral services for Southampton Town Fire Marshal and Community Preservation Fund Ranger Brian Williams were held over the weekend in Flanders. Williams died earlier this month, unexpectedly, at the age of 52. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Southampton and the Flanders community, where he was also a former fire chief. The Flanders Fire Department held a service for Williams on November 17 at the station and a funeral procession was held the following afternoon with representatives from surrounding fire agencies. An antique fire truck carried his remains under a flag flown on Flanders Road by the East Quogue and Southampton fire departments.
