Donald Trump has been back as president for a couple of weeks, and he has issued countless executive orders. He also has proposed making Canada our 51st state, buying Greenland, taking the Panama Canal from Panama, and the taking of Gaza (making it “the Riviera of The Middle East”) and moving the resident Palestinians elsewhere.
Yet he has not issued any executive orders nor anything at all to bring down the price of groceries. While campaigning, Trump repeatedly said he would bring food prices down … and fast. Clearly, it was just empty promises. His tariffs will raise prices further.
Thus far, Trump’s focus is on surrounding himself with billionaires and land grabs. So much for reducing the price of food and other necessities for the average American citizens.
So, Representative Nick LaLota, please tell us what you think about Trump’s focus in the first weeks of his presidency. Here on Long Island, we people certainly need some relief from prices that are continuing to rise under Trump. And his policies are destined to make a bad situation worse.
