To quote a Southampton Town Democratic Committee member, who shall remain anonymous: “We’re stuck with him.”

These were the words expressed to me regarding John Leonard, failed Southampton Town Democratic candidate for Town Board, in the recent March 18 special election.

Perhaps others on the committee are beginning to see the light, but they choose to remain silent. Sounds familiar? They would rather follow their failed leadership, knowing down deep that the results won’t end well for them.

Now on to a March 27 Letter to the Editor, “Clean Campaign,” written by Chris Prince, from Manhattan. He expresses negative comments about Rick Martel and the Martel campaign, without stating any concrete examples. So typical of his friend John Leonard.

Instead of wasting his time writing this letter, perhaps Chris Prince should have read Jose Reyes’s letter, March 27, “We Are Watching.” Then, he would know about the real John Leonard, Southampton Town Democratic Committee as well as Southampton Town politics.

So, Mr. Prince, from Manhattan … Manhattan has its own political problems. Manhattan might be calling you.
