Marie (Tumminelli) Pensa of Hampton Bays died on August 14 after an illness. She was 84.
Ms. Pensa was born in New York City to Elizabeth and Charles Tumminelli. She and her husband, Domenico, founded Villa Paul Restaurant in Hampton Bays, which is still family-owned.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her five children, Margherita Lagan and husband William, Giacomo Pensa and wife Margaret, Elizabeth Pensa Lattanzio, Charles Pensa and wife Cheryl, and Domenico Pensa Jr. and wife Patricia. She is also survived by a brother, Arthur Tumminelli; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Tumminelli and Lina Cavallo; and 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were August 17 at the R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass was held on August 18 at the Church of St. Rosalie, followed by interment at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton.
