Mary Skinner Wenk of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Westhampton Beach died on April 24, 2022, surrounded by her children. She was 92. Born in Manhattan on January 17, 1930, the daughter of James and Mary Skinner, she attended St. Francis Xavier Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School in New York City and Marymount College in Tarrytown. She spent the summers of her youth in Breezy Point, where she met many of her lifelong friends, and the love of her life and husband, Donald Wenk.

Married in 1952, they raised their children in Roslyn and Westhampton Beach. They loved to travel and saw the world together with all their great friends.

Wenk volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic School and Church in Roslyn, as well as at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn and Meals on Wheels on Long Island. Survivors said she was a gracious entertainer of family and friends. She was a talented artist and avid golfer, and loved the beach, survivors said, adding that she was passionate in her lifelong faith in God and her love for Mary, the Blessed Mother. She attended daily Mass where she prayed for each one of her children, grandchildren, and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald D. Wenk; and her children, Donald Jr. (Clare) Wenk, Mary Beth (Charles) Austin-Trunz, Mary Ellen (Keith) Fell, Mary Jane Wenk, Mary Susan Wenk, James (Dianne) Wenk, Mary Pat (Mark) Lunden; 21 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Garden City. A private burial will follow. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County Trustbridge.
