Matthew Topping, Formerly of Sagaponack, Dies February 24

Matthew Topping, 48 of Afton, New York, and formally of Sagaponack, died on February 24 in Afton. He was 48.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at 1 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery in Bridgehampton.

Johny Sanchez-Aguirre, 32, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Southampton Town Police just after midnight on April 6 and charged with misdemeanor DWI after he was pulled over for driving erratically on Springville Road in Hampton Bays and found to be intoxicated. He was taken to Town Police headquarters in Hampton Bays to be held for morning arraignment. William G. For Bonac Softball The East Hampton softball team (1-5 overall) won its first game of the season in dramatic fashion on Friday at home. After Lydia Rowan’s triple in the bottom of the seventh scored the tying run, Alexa Schaffer won it with a three-run home run that capped the 13-10 come-from-behind victory for the Bonackers.
