Southampton Village Settles Discrimination Lawsuit for $75,000

The settlement that the Southampton Village Board approved last month with Village Justice Court clerk Leith McLoughlin is for $75,000, to be paid out within 30 days of the agreement’s execution. The board approved the settlement via a resolution on September 24, and Mayor Bill Manger signed the agreement the same night. The village provided The Press with a copy of the executed agreement last week. McLoughlin had claimed workplace discrimination due to her gender and her pregnancies, alleging she was treated differently — and poorly — by then-Village Justice Barbara Wilson, her supervisor, after becoming pregnant.
