Michael Roesel Dies At 67

Michael Roesel

Michael Roesel of Bridgehampton died at home on Thursday, June 23. He was 67.

Mr. Roesel was the owner of Michael Roesel Construction, an ex-chief of the Bridgehampton Fire Department and a Suffolk County fire coordinator.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Michael Roesel, Richard Roesel and his wife Kelly, Kristen Brabant and her husband Pat; and step-daughter, Jennifer; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation took place on Sunday, June 26, followed by a wake and firematic service at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held Monday, June 27, at the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Bridgehampton. Interment followed at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery in Southampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place

Southampton DWI Arrest for the Week of February 27

Raul Ortega Sanchez, 32, of Shirley was arrested by Quogue Village Police on Montauk Highway in Quogue on February 23 at 3:11 a.m. and charged with felony aggravated DWI. Police said Ortega Sanchez was observed speeding and when he was pulled over, an investigation revealed he was driving drunk with an open alcohol container and a suspended license.
