All three of the voter-approval propositions on the Election Day ballots, two of which were aimed at improving water quality on Eastern Long Island, won approval from voters. A countywide proposal that will create a new one-eighth-percent sales tax that will fund upgrades to municipal sewer systems and the replacement of hundreds of thousands of outdated septic systems won overwhelming support from voters.
