Nancy Darby Krzyzewski Of Southampton Dies March 4

Born at Southampton Hospital on October 10, 1937, she graduated from the Southampton public schools, and married Harold Krzyzewski in 1956. She worked many years at the Cookery Dock and then Herrick Hardware. Survivors said she had a love for animals, gardening and the outdoors.

Predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Darby; five siblings, Joseph, John, Helen, Ann, Patricia and Dorothy; her husband, Harold; a son, Harold; and grandchildren Sean Krzyzewski and Brian Cooke Jr., she is survived by a son, Jeff Krzyzewski and wife Linda of Nebraska; and daughters, Linda Cooke and husband Brian of Southampton, Debra Krzyzewski and longtime partner James Conover of Hampton Bays, and Dawn Ruiz of Southampton; and eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held on March 10 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. Her ashes will be scattered at sea.

Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978, or the Cooke-Krzyzewski-Roessle-Meerman Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southampton High School, 141 Narrow Lane, Southampton, NY 11968.
