Westhampton Beach senior Matilda Buchen walked away from her third-straight trip to the state tennis championships feeling thankful for all that the sport has done for her. Over the next few weeks, crews from National Grid will be at work replacing the gas main on Hampton Road from Main Street to Old Town Road. National Grid has said the project will provide a modernized natural gas system that is safer and more resilient. The project is anticipated to run through April 2025. Any service interruptions will be scheduled, and will be short in duration, according to National Grid. The project is being coordinated with Southampton Village and its Department of Public Works.
