Police Search for Missing Hampton Bays Man

Southampton Town Police are searching for a 36-year-old developmentally disabled Hampton Bays man whose family reported him missing on Saturday morning.

Police are asking for the public's help in locating Anthony Marel, who is described as a white male, 5-feet 5-inches tall and about 160 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He is believed to be wearing dark colored shorts, a gray T-shirt and orange Puma sneakers. He has cross tattoos on both his left forearm and his left hand.

Police say he may be in the Riverhead area and was at the Riverhead Department of Motor Vehicles office on Friday.

Marel was reported missing from his residence in a developmentally disabled assistance home at 140 Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays. He is considered to be a danger to himself because he has not taken prescribed medication.
