Robert Anthony Robinson of Southampton, affectionately known as “Rob,” “Bud,” or “Little Bud,” died on June 28. He was 65.

He was born on February 28th, 1956 in Southampton to Cecilia T. and Robert L. Robinson, and was the middle child of three boys.

Mr. Robinson attended Tuckahoe and Southampton schools. He graduated in 1974, and furthered his education in Long Island University in Brooklyn, pursuing paralegal studies.

Mr. Robinson enlisted in the United States Navy on March 31, 1975, working as an aviation mechanic ordinance and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida.

Always jobbing, Mr. Robinson worked on the East End as a pier installer, an orderly at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, and a security guard for the Shinnecock Powwow, Parrish Art Museum and many private events.

He was also a world traveler through his last job as a network analyst with Arrow Electronics, which took him to Chicago, Malaysia, and London, among other places. He established his own computer company, VMA Consulting, named after his daughters (Valerie, Megan and Ashley) working as a computer software consultant.

Mr. Robinson was predeceased by his mother Cecilia; his father Robert L.; brother Frederick Commander; and godson Matthew Williams. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tanis Melissa; brother Forrest (Chanon); three daughters, Megan, Ashley and Valerie; two sons, Dyron (Marcrina) and Antoine; four sisters-in-law, Linda, Shelley, Susan, and Chanon; four brothers-in-law, Keith, Leigh, Riccardo and Jenaro; nine grandchildren; three god-children, Mark Williams Jr., Janelle Moore and Tymia Leathers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express great appreciation to his nephew, Adam Phillips, who provided loving care to “Uncle Bud” in his last days, as well as Frances “Charlene” Walker, whose dedication and commitment to her cousin Bud will never be forgotten.

A funeral service was held Friday, July 2, at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
