October 9 -- The Declan Boland Memorial Benefit Tug-of-War was held on Sunday at the North Sea Fire Department field. Twenty teams competed in the sold-out event, which was held in honor of Declan Boland, who died in an accident at work earlier this year. The total raised for the Boland family was $125,000, to be used to set up three separate college funds for their three children. Team Summerhill Landscapes won, beating Team Delamere Building Corp. in the final.
