SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — A Burke Street resident alerted Village Police on Saturday afternoon that there was a car parked nearby with its engine running. The resident told police that the engine had been running since early morning. Police located the unoccupied vehicle. The doors to the car were locked, but the engine was running. They traced the car’s ownership through its registration and were able to locate the owner, who returned to the car and shut the engine off.
