LTV Studios will host a Community Cookie Exchange on Saturday, December 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests may enjoy cookies, music, crafts, and raffles. Proceeds will go toward paying for LTV’s new roof and to the South Fork Performing Arts Education Fund. Nonperishable food items will also be collected for LTV’s Little Free Food Pantry in exchange for cookies to take home for the holidays. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at ltveh.org.

Start the new year with a chance to do some good by braving the cold Atlantic for the 26th annual Wainscott Polar Bear Plunge, sponsored by the Seafood Shop’s Colin Mather, with all proceeds going to the Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry. Joy Jan Jones, a jazz singer who has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and nightclubs and theaters throughout New York, will sing jazz songs from the Great American Song Book at the First Presbyterian Church of Southampton, 2 South Main Street in Southampton, on Saturday, December 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. The concert is a benefit performance for Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach. The annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Heart of the Hamptons is set for Saturday, December 14, at 9:30 a.m. For this event, hundreds brave the winter cold to take a plunge in the Atlantic Ocean at Coopers Beach in Southampton. In the spirit of the season, “A Christmas Carol” will be read by Laura Jasper on Sunday, December 15, at 1 p.m. at the Masonic Temple in Sag Harbor. The classic Dickens tale features the perennial characters Scrooge, Jacob Morley, and ghosts, who in Dickens’s words “may haunt you pleasantly.” The reading is suitable for all audiences.
