Southampton Elementary School celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday with an assembly that featured “I Have a Dream” speeches by six students who won a January challenge to write about their own dreams. The students — Blake Epley, Jia Hartline, Luna Lysogorski, Kaya Marvel, Amelie Nartey and Aria Russel — spoke about their dreams to spread kindness, improve the environment and add more color to the world through art. and nonviolence and discussions about how artists can respond or interpret the civil rights leader’s

The Society of Professional Journalists is accepting entires for its 2025 high school essay contest.
