To unify students and promote positivity, Southampton Elementary School third-grade dual language teachers Jessica Gomez and Stefany Gomez-Barrientos designed a class T-shirt for students to wear on Fridays to school events and on trips. The shirts celebrate the three main goals of the school’s dual language program: bilingualism, biliteracy and biculturalism.

Southampton High School students recently learned more about the U.S. Military Academy West Point. During their social studies classes, they heard from and asked questions of Thomas Gabrielle, a 2019 Southampton High School graduate who is currently a junior at West Point.

Westhampton Beach High School has named Gavin Ehlers and Madison Quinn as its Class of 2022 valedictorian and salutatorian.

Hampton Bays High School has named Class of 2022 seniors Kristina Georges and Lily Simpson-Heavey as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

Raynor Country Day Schoo sixth-graders Rebecca Bartha, Finnley Coonan, and Mark Gashchenko were recently nominated to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) Festival.  The students will represent their school on the county level this weekend on behalf of the Division I Festival.  Rebecca Bartha and Finnley Coonan represented the RCDS Band on their primary instrument,  clarinet, while Mark Gashchenko represented the RCDS Band on his primary instrument,  trombone. The students, with help from their music teachers, Suzanne Lewis and Leanna Bartley, spent more than 15 hours preparing for the performance.
