The Southampton Elementary School Student Council has donated $500 to the Coalition for Women’s Cancers of Southampton Stony Brook and Lucia’s Angels to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Council members, with the assistance of their advisers Lisa Carew and Annemarie Calogrias, raised the money through a raffle in which fellow students, families and staff purchased tickets for the chance to win a giant pink teddy bear. In honor of Veterans Day, members of Southampton High School’s Mariners Patriot Club, along with local Scouts and veteran organizations, continued their tradition of placing 1,200 flags on the graves of veterans at Sacred Hearts and Southampton cemeteries.
