More than 200 rubber ducks waded through Mill Creek to the rear of the Flanders Men’s Club on Saturday as part of the second annual Rubber Duck Race, sponsored by the Friends of the Big Duck. The event, the proceeds from which will assist the organization in maintaining the Flanders landmark, drew a crowd of nearly 60 people. Chase Wanat, 10, of Flanders took home first prize—$100 cash. The Stalzer family’s duck finished second and they went home with tickets to see a show at the Suffolk Theater. And Diane Barth’s duck earned third place honors and she received two tickets to Splish Splash in Calverton.ALEXA GORMAN PHOTOS
