Sheila Muller, formerly of Southampton and Myrtle Beach South Carolina, died on September 13, peacefully at home surrounded by family in Northport. She was 88.

She was born in Brooklyn to Charles Kerr and Dorothy Kerr (nee Butler) on April 9, 1934. She attended Baldwin High School and graduated in 1951. She married the love of her life, Charlie Muller, on May 16, 1953 and raised six children in Water Mill and Southampton, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before he died in 2006.

Over the years, she worked at Cancellieri Pharmacy, Leahy Opticians and The Bridgehampton Club.

She was an active member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church in Southampton, where she was a Eucharistic minister and sang in the choir. The couple retired to Myrtle Beach in 1990, where they thoroughly enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and became very active in their new church community at St. Michael’s in Garden City.

She is survived by her brother James Kerr; her sister-in-law Barbara (Bam) Cancellieri; and her brother-in-law Arthur Muller; her children, Paul Muller (Stephanie) of Austin Texas; Ellen Brady (Garry Velzy) of Northport; Charles Muller (Tia) of Northport; Marianne Cozzolino (Thomas) of Carolina Beach, North Carolina; Julie Muller (Chris Holden) of Whitingham, Vermont; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Muller; her son Lawrence Muller; and her daughters-in-law Suzanne Muller and Patty Muller.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Basilica in Southampton on September 15. There will also be a memorial service and celebration of life tentatively scheduled for November 12 also in Southampton.

Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk, Inc. in East Northport, to which the family wishes to extend their absolute gratitude.

Southampton Village Board Hears Update to Resort Hotel Plans, Adds Clarification to Leaf Blower Ban

During a public hearing at the latest Southampton Village Board meeting on December 12, representatives for Dede Gotthelf, the owner of 71 Hill Street, presented updated and revised plans for a resort hotel that will include several units of workforce housing. Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 19

Miguel Lopez Reynoso, 32, of Westhampton Beach was arrested by Westhampton Beach Police on December 11, at 11:23 p.m., and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Lopez Reynoso was pulled over at Peters Lane after being observed following too closely behind another vehicle while driving on Montauk Highway, said police. Police said he told them he had only one beer before driving but performed poorly on a field sobriety test. A breath test came up with a reading of 0.13 percent. Craig Kruzel of Southampton Dies December 4

Craig Kruzel, a lifelong resident of Southampton, died peacefully in his home on December 4. He was 70. Born April 11, 1954, he was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Stella Kruzel.
