Alixander Vasquez Osorio, 51, of Riverhead was arrested by Southampton Town Police shortly before 6 a.m. on October 27 and charged with misdemeanor DWI after police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Priscilla Avenue in Riverside. When they arrived the found a vehicle upside down with nobody inside, but documents in the vehicle indicated the owner lived nearby. The Southampton Village Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to suspend for 30 days, without pay, a village dispatcher who has been on paid administrative leave since September 16 after he accidentally discharged a legally owned handgun while in a moving vehicle on September 14 in Water Mill. The bullet injured the dispatcher’s hand before it was stopped by a passenger’s metal wallet.
