Alixander Vasquez Osorio, 51, of Riverhead was arrested by Southampton Town Police shortly before 6 a.m. on October 27 and charged with misdemeanor DWI after police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Priscilla Avenue in Riverside. When they arrived the found a vehicle upside down with nobody inside, but documents in the vehicle indicated the owner lived nearby. When police arrived at the residence, Osorio, who had a laceration on his arm, confirmed that he’d been the driver and police determined that he was intoxicated. The Southampton Village Board voted unanimously on Tuesday to suspend for 30 days, without pay, a village dispatcher who has been on paid administrative leave since September 16 after he accidentally discharged a legally owned handgun while in a moving vehicle on September 14 in Water Mill.
