Those of the boating bent gathered for a benefit cocktail flotilla in support of Fighting Chance, a nonprofit organization providing free cancer counseling services to newly diagnosed patients in the Hamptons and beyond.
While the rosé flowed freely before, during and after the 28-mile cruise from Sag Harbor’s Long Wharf to the farthest reaches of Shelter Island and back, there was nary a touch of pink in anyone’s outfits. Indeed, the overwhelming color choice of attendees’ apparel was classic blue, white or some combination thereof.
Back on land, colorful prints are popping up everywhere, most notably in women’s dresses and tunics but surprisingly in men’s shirts and even an occasional pair of trousers, boldly going where no man has gone before — a welcome change from the sea of gingham of previous summers.
