Southampton Village Ocean Rescue (SVOR), a team of volunteer first responders dedicated to open water safety, conducted a cold water rescue drill in Southampton Village on Sunday, February 23. A critical training exercise, it ensures that SVOR’s lifeguards remain prepared for emergency rescues in frigid conditions. The drill, coordinated by SVOR 1st Assistant Chief Kyle Cranston, who served as the officer in command, and led by SVOR Special Operations Advisor Jason Feinberg, simulated a real-life winter emergency. The Southampton Town Youth Bureau will host its annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 14, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Southampton Youth Services, 1370A Majors Path in Southampton. The Kiwanis Club of Southampton Town will host a St. Patrick’s Day bingo fundraiser on Friday, March 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hampton Bays American Legion Hall, 55 Ponquogue Avenue.
