SOUTHAMPTON VILLAGE — Village Police are investigating the events that led to a man suffering from a gunshot wound being dropped off at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital on the afternoon of February 5. Staff at the hospital called Southampton Village Police to report that a 48-year-old man had been brought in suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Brandon S. Link, 62, of Nevada was arrested by Westhampton Beach Police and charged with misdemeanor DWI on February 8 at 1:07 a.m. Link was pulled over at 32 Oak Street after being observed failing to use a turn signal and running a red light while driving a black Mercedes SUV with Nevada license plates, police said. Police observed that he had glassy eyes and detected a smell of alcohol and asked if he’d been drinking. Link said he had come from a bar, where he’d had a martini, according to police. The Southampton Artist Association’s Winter Show will open today, Thursday, February 20, and continue through March 2 at the Southampton Cultural Center. A reception to meet the artists will take place Saturday, February 22, from 4-6 p.m. The Southampton Cultural Center is located at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton, across from Agawam Park in the village. The show will also feature the work of 30 students from Southampton High School. Students in ninth through 12th grade will show selected paintings, drawings, digital art and self portraits.
