Susan N. Hoover Of Hampton Bays Dies November 22

Susan N. Hoover of Hampton Bays died on November 22 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. She was 57.

Ms. Hoover was a retired court clerk for the Southampton Village Police Department. She was a very active member of the Hampton Bays United Methodist Church and, because of her love for music, she played the organ at a number of Methodist churches in the area.

Ms. Hoover is survived by a daughter, Jill A. Matos and husband David of Hampton Bays; her mother, Barbara (Carter) Catena of Hampton Bays; and two grandchildren, Jaya and Jaleysa Matos of Hampton Bays. She is also survived by two brothers, Jeffrey S. Catena and wife Nanette of Hampton Bays and Frank M. Catena and wife Sheila of North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dale A. Hoover, and her father, Salvatore Catena.

Cremation took place on November 25 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches. A memorial service was held on November 29 at the Hampton Bays United Methodist Church; the Reverend Lillian Hertel officiated.
