My mother told me today, “It’s too late.” Yes it is. This community that my ancestors helped to found is forever changed. Change is inevitable, but clear disregard for all that makes this place special, unforgivable [“A Fight Over a Cellphone Tower Has Created a Rift Among Sagaponack Village Residents,” 27east.com, August 28].
The isolation that so many feel, though I’m not sure who they are, will only grow. Being able to take accountability and extend past one’s self is difficult. Some have strength, some don’t.
Long-term relationships are ended without a pause, with no questions asked. How can people perish when the five members of the Village Board considered no voice? How did the mayor respond? Because we didn’t have to.
So disappointing.

I applaud your editorial of September 5, “Keeping Whales Safe,” for showing that there is no evidence to support the idea that wind farms harm whales. In fact, the evidence is that ship strikes have been responsible for most of...
I have been a resident of Bridgehampton for almost 40 years, and I am deeply concerned at the unfairness and lack of neighborliness reflected in the July 17 decision by the Sagaponack Village Board to limit access to Gibson Lane...
Last week, a letter was sent to the battery energy storage system “steering” committee formed last March. The committee’s efforts were to include “listening to and addressing ongoing public concerns, considering the recommendations of state working groups, identifying commonalities among...
The Atlantic Ocean and the Ponquogue Bridge are “virtual” gyms, and they are free to use. Walking over the bridge might strengthen your glutes, hamstrings, heart, knees and quads, and you will be breathing clean air 60 feet above sea...
