Unfit To Serve

Donald Trump is unfit to serve in any public office, much less as president of the United States of America.

In 2016, I remember all too well Donald Trump ranting and raving that Hillary Clinton didn’t have the strength and the stamina to be president. Now, in 2024, Trump is canceling multiple interviews because he’s exhausted. He’s old and he’s tired — but he’s also a liar. He’s too tired for some tough interviews, but he’s not too tired to go on “Fox and Friends.”

As an aged senior citizen, he should release his medical records. But he’s afraid to release them. What is he hiding? He’s 78 years old, he’s very overweight (obese?), he rambles and he frequently loses his train of thought (is senility creeping in?). Kamala Harris just turned 60, and she is fit and as sharp as a tack.

Trump’s shameful display at this year’s Al Smith Dinner made me cringe. Cardinal Dolan should be ashamed of himself for laughing along with Trump and normalizing him. Trump broke from tradition, as he did in 2016. Once again, he was vicious in attacking his Democratic opponents, and not a whiff of good-natured humor nor any humility or self-deprecation.

His generals (Mark Milley, James Mattis and John Kelly) all say that Trump is the biggest threat to our country.

Let’s turn the page on Trump and his divisiveness. Let’s start anew with a focus on truth, facts and bipartisan problem-solving.

I’m calling voters in Pennsylvania, a key swing state. If you want to volunteer to help elect Kamala Harris, go to events.democrats.org.

As Tim Walz says: “We can rest when we are dead.”
