UPDATE: Weather Postpones Fireworks Show

Due to forecasts of inclement weather, the Southampton Fresh Air Home has postponed the fireworks show until Sunday, July 5, at 9:15 p.m.

Original Story:

The Southampton Fresh Air Home will provide its annual fireworks show Friday night, July 3, beginning at 9:15 p.m.

For 32 years, the home has provided Southampton’s Fourth of July weekend Fireworks by Grucci celebration as part of its American Picnic to benefit programs for youth with physical disabilities. Although the home will not host the picnic this year because of COVID-19 limitations, the fireworks show will go on as planned.

The fireworks will be launched from a barge in Shinnecock Bay and will be visible on both sides of the bay from Coopers Beach to the west side of the Shinnecock Inlet.

The home is asking that everyone follow mandated safety guidelines for social distancing as well as any town and village parking regulations.

Southampton Village code prohibits parking on Dune Road/Meadow Lane. Parking lots along Dune Road do not require a permit after 6 p.m.

A live soundtrack will simulcast on 104.7 WELJ.
